Campground Rules

  • CHECK IN TIME:  3:00 pm. If you do not check in by 9:00 pm or notify us of your late arrival, it will be considered a no-show and no-show sites will be made available for booking to others on a first-come, first-serve basis. Early check in available upon request, depending on prior day reservations.

  • CHECK OUT TIME:  11:00 am. Late check out available upon request, depending on next day reservations.

  • QUIET HOURS:  10:00 pm to 8:00 am

  • OCCUPANCY

    • Sites are limited to four (4) adults or one (1) single-family unit (example 2 adults and their children).

    • Sites are limited to two (2) tents or one (1) tent and (1) trailer.

    • Camping reservations will not be issued to anyone under 18 years of age. 

    • Groups of campers under 18 years of age must have at least one (1) member over 18 years of age

    • Do not use any site other than the one assigned to you without changing your reservation online, or speaking with a Desert of Maine employee.

  • VEHICLES

    • All vehicles must park at their assigned campsite and must not block the road or prevent access to other campsites. 

    • Trailers must not exceed 20 feet in length.

    • Additional vehicle parking is available near the bath house or the entrance to the campground.

    • Drive slowly (10 mph max) within the campground.

  • VISITORS:  Visitors are allowed in the campground between 8:00 am and 10:00 pm.  All campers are responsible for their visitors. A maximum of 6 adults are allowed per site, including visitors.

  • DOGS:  We are pet friendly. We accept all well behaved dogs, cats, and birds regardless of breed. Pets must be kept on a leash at all times and may not be left unattended at sites. Excessive barking or squawking is prohibited. Pets other than dogs, cats, or birds must be pre-approved prior to being brought on to the grounds.  Please clean up after your pets.

  • SMOKING is not permitted on the premises.

  • ALCOHOL is permitted within your campsite.  Strolling with alcohol is prohibited. Please don’t get out of control or you will be asked to leave.

  • CAMPFIRES are only permitted in the provided fire rings.  Do not leave fires unattended.  You are free to move fire rings but keep them away from trees or other fire hazards.  Do not burn cans, glass or trash. Firewood is available for purchase within the campground area.  You can put cash in the box, or pay at the store. Please note: firewood should not be brought from out of the area and it is illegal to bring it from out of state.

  • FIREARMS AND FIREWORKS are strictly prohibited on the premises. 

  • WASTE DISPOSAL:  Please take your trash with you when you leave. You may use on-site trash cans or the trash and recycling dumpsters near the campground entrance. There is a dump station available for registered campers near the bath house.

  • DISHWASHING:  Use the utility sink in front of the bath house for washing dishes.  Do not wash dishes in the bathrooms or in your camp site.  

  • GENERATORS:  Generators are only permitted to be operated 9:00 am - 1:00 pm and 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm.  Generator placement should be in a location that does not interfere with other campers.  Generators creating excessive noise may be requested to be shut off. Generators shall not be left unattended.

 

CANCELLATION POLICY

Cancellations made prior to 7 days in advance of your stay (3:00 pm the day your reservation begins) will receive a full refund.  Cancellations made within 2-7 days of your stay will be refunded 50%. Cancellations made within 48 hours of your stay will not receive a refund. 


BE A COURTEOUS CAMPER

 

LEAVE NO TRACE

  • Clean your site when you leave

  • Put out your fire

  • Clean up after your pets

  • Put everything back in its place if you moved anything (example: picnic table)

 

BE A GOOD NEIGHBOR

  • Don’t cut through campsites

  • Respect quiet hours

  • Use low lights (turn off your headlights) when driving through the campground or unloading your car
